We are pleased to announce that as a company we have chosen to support R.A.B.I and the DPJ Foundation as our charities of the year for 2019.
R.A.B.I is a welfare charity which offers financial support to farming people in hardship of all ages. They treat every application on its own merits, working with compassion and discretion and offering wide ranging help. R.A.B.I provides short-term and long-term support to people with many becoming ‘full beneficiaries’ of the charity, receiving ongoing regular payments.
The DPJ Foundation was set up in July 2016 following the death of Daniel Picton-Jones. The foundation aims to support people in rural communities with poor mental health, especially men in the agriculture sector. Agriculture carries one of the highest rate of suicide and with mental health being such a big problem across society the foundation aims to break down the stigma that surrounds mental health by providing support services for those in rural communities. The DPJ Foundation also provides Mental Health First Aid training, which staff at Agri Advisor are due to undertake in the coming months.
Nerys Llewelyn Jones, Agri Advisor’s Managing Partner, said: “We are very pleased to offer our support to R.A.B.I and the DPJ Foundation, both of which do such excellent work in supporting the agricultural community in times of need. It is good to know that every penny we raise will go directly to supporting farming people in hardship.”
Linda Jones, R.A.B.I Regional Manager for Wales, added: “We are extremely grateful to Agri Advisor for choosing R.A.B.I as their charity of the year for the second year in succession. We very much appreciate their support, not only in helping us to fundraise, but also, crucially, in helping us to raise awareness of our work and the help we’re able to provide to the farming community. It is an uncertain time for many in the farming industry, but we are here to help people in times of need. Agri Advisor has been the main sponsor for our Henlle Golf Challenge since 2016 and it is fantastic news that they will continue to support our work for an additional year.”
Emma Picton-Jones, Founder of the DPJ Foundation, said: ‘We are delighted to be Agri Advisors charity of the year alongside R.A.B.I. All monies raised will go directly in to supporting the community in which Agri Advisors work closely with. We look forward to building up a good relationship with them over the year and thank them for their support.’
Keep an eye out for our fundraising efforts thorughout the year.
