For all our clients thinking of making some expenditure in receipt of the BPS payment in December, we remind you that the Farm Business Grant re-opens on 2nd March 2020, offering 40% funding towards the following items, amongst many others:
- Mobile and fixed cattle handling systems
- Cattle crushes
- Weighing systems and weigh bars
- Heat detection systems
- Mobile sheep handling systems
- EID equipment
- 10T Feed bins
- Chemical stores & diesel tanks
- GPS for precision farming
- Subsoilers and minimum tillage equipment
- Grassland seed drills
- Weed wipers
- Various energy efficiency equipment
RPW have given all the items on the list a set price and will fund 40% of that price, so long as it meets the minimum specification. Grants are for a minimum of £3,000 therefore farmers will need to spend at least £7,000 on equipment to qualify. The maximum grant is for £12,000.
You no longer need to have claimed BPS in the last scheme year to be eligible, neither is it required for you to have been trading for a minimum of two years.
The business needs to be registered with Farming Connect, also a representative from the business needs to have attended a “Farming for the Future” organised by Farming Connect and RPW.
You will note the application window falls in the busy time of lambing and calving for many, so please contact Agri Advisor for assistance with your application, because after the scheme opens it is only open for 40 days. If successful with your application, you will have 120 days to purchase and claim the items, which you will appreciate is a short time window. Please contact Ellie Watkins on 01544 327122 or Katie Davies on 01558 650381 for further information.
