National Minimum Wage increases

From £7.70 to £8.20 per hour? for 21 to 24 year olds

From £6.15 to £6.45 per hour  for 18 to 20 year olds

From £4.35 to £4.55 per hour for 16 and 17 year olds

From £3.90 to £4.15 per hour for apprentices

New Statutory Rates

Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP), Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP). Shared Parental Pay (SHPP), Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP) all increased to £151.20 a Week

6th April 2020

Statutory Sick Pay (SSP)

Increased to £95.85 a Week

Redundancy cap on week pay

Cap on a week’s pay used in redundancy calculation  set at £538 a Week

Maximum compensatory award

(Unfair dismissal on) Compensatory award for unfair dismissal  increases from £86,444 to £88,519 for termination dates on or after 6th April 2020

Termination payments above £30,000 to be subject to employer’s national insurance

All workers entitled to receive a written statement of terms on or before the day of employment.  Written statement to include particulars of employment.

Businesses, Agencies to provide agency workers with a key information document setting out key facts at the start of an assignment. (Abolition of the Swedish derogation relating to agency workers)
