The Agriculture Wages Order (No. 2) (Wales) 2022

  • Posted

The updated Agricultural Wages (No. 2) (Wales) Order 2022 came into force this week and defines the terms and conditions of employment for agricultural workers. It replaces the Order issued earlier this year.

There are various changes to the Agricultural Minimum Wage Framework which include:

  • increases to minimum wage rates and certain allowances;
  • the inclusion of rest breaks;
  • apprenticeship age bands have been aligned with those under the National Minimum Wage / National Living Wage (NMW / NLW); and
  • continued pay protection for agricultural workers who would otherwise suffer a reduction in pay as a result of previous changes to the grading structure.

These changes will be backdated to 1st April 2022.
